This weekend, the Cajuns traveled to Lakes of Katy Waterski Club in Katy, TX to compete in the South Central Regionals. The team placed a strong second behind in-state rivals and current National Champions, The ULM Warhawks. The Cajuns will regroup this week, make some adjustments, and be ready to come out strong and fight for their seventh National Championship title.
Thank you to the Kelm's, UT Water Ski Team, and all the volunteers & officials who helped host and put on a great event this weekend! It is always a pleasure coming to Katy!
Some noticeable performances from the weekend are:
Senior, Jonah Shaffer placed 1st in slalom, Patrik Öhman placed 1st in Jump and Guillaume Tétreault placed 1st in Trick.
Other top 5 finishes in slalom include, sophomores Arron Davies & Bailey Austin, and freshmen Jaimee Bull and Alice Bagnoli.
In Jump, Marylou Major and Conley Pinette both placed 3rd, in addition to Patrik's 1st.
Freshman, Guillaume's 1st place finish in tricks was fortified by top five wins from team mates Conley, Alice bagnoli, Bailey, and Brody Newton.
The team will be headed to San Marcos, TX next week to compete in the Connelly Skis 40th NCWSA Nationals. Celebrating their 30th Year the team would love to take home another national title.
